The life in silver crystals...

I am a photographer from Turkey. My photography knowledge comes from my father who was a professional photographer decades ago before the digital era started. He lost the business after the digital cameras became so common that everybody owned one and did not need to hire a pro photographer. It is so easy to call someone as photographer those days.

I started really dealing with photography after I obtained a Leica R4 through an internet ad in 2007. For a year or two, I solely shot in slides. As my father says, slide is the real essence of the photography. The joy of projecting the slides on a wall is unexplainable. Then I met with the rangefinder cameras. I dared to buy an expensive Leica M6 and I started shooting in black and white film. Since then I primarily shoot in B/W and develop my own films.

Photography for me is a way to tell a story, to communicate and to freeze the time. As I say in one of my books below, the life is in perfect harmony. I believe the forms, geometries, people, events are all related to each other even in different times and locations. Everything is on a continuum. Photography is a perfect tool to prove that by freezing the time. I hope you enjoy looking at my photographs.
